"Jim and Janet Dicke's contributions to 澳门金沙线上赌博官网 have been extraordinary. I especially appreciate how Jim and Janet have supported the arts and the humanities. They understand how the arts and humanities add beauty, meaning, and hope to our lives. In thinking about the new building that will bear their name, I'm reminded of how our Center for the Sciences and Innovation puts science on display for our students, 工作人员, 和游客. Our new building is going to do the same for the humanities. It will highlight the many benefits of the humanities and showcase the central role they play in liberal arts education. I look forward to what lies ahead for the humanities at 澳门金沙线上赌博官网 and I'm grateful to Jim and Janet for making this exciting future possible. "

"The Dickes have been extraordinarily generous to 澳门金沙线上赌博官网 over the years. They truly are a national treasure as well as a 澳门金沙线上赌博官网 treasure. Their generosity is not only unbounded, but it is extremely intelligent. They give with foresight, insight, and purpose. They make a difference wherever they give. The kind of difference that is life changing."

"There comes a time within an educational institution when there is an imperative call for change. Thanks to the generosity of Jim and Janet Dicke, we are able to heed the call. Dicke Hall will be a designated place of distinction in teaching, 奖学金, and service for the study of human culture that will lead to greater insight into our world. Through intentional exploration in a facility that is inviting, 审美的愉悦, and pedagogically appropriate, the Dicke's gift will highlight and preserve their earnest championing for the liberal arts where students learn how to think creatively and critically, to reason, and to ask questions. The skills acquired will allow our institutions' most precious investments--students-- to gain new insights into everything from poetry to business models and philosophy. It is exciting to realize that within this new structure, all students will learn about the values of different cultures, about how history is made, and about the meaning of democracy in a place of learning that is most effective for acquiring knowledge in the fields of the humanities. Jim and Janet Dicke's contribution will memorialize our institutional efforts toward inclusive excellence in the humanities 通过允许学生, 教师, and 工作人员 to preserve the great accomplishments of the past, understand the world we presently live in, and create the tools to imagine the future."
——丹麦人. 琼斯,Ph值. D., former Vice President for Academic Affairs
The generosity of the Dicke family brings to life a new home to celebrate the humanities at 澳门金沙线上赌博官网. The new Dicke Hall highlights the importance of the humanities to 澳门金沙线上赌博官网’s community and promotes the University’s commitment to enduring excellence in the liberal arts education. As a 澳门金沙线上赌博官网 alumna with a degree in history, my heart is filled with gratitude and excitement for what the future holds as we break ground on this incredible new building!
