This Discovery explores the diverse, interrelated, and evolving societies of the Middle Ages, from c.500 through c.1500 CE. Students will gain a multifaceted understanding of this period by taking courses in at least two different disciplines. Each course in this Discovery engages artistic, 材料, 语言, or textual evidence to address a core question: how did individuals, 社区, and societies in the Middle Ages forge distinctive identities and establish their place in the world?
Requirements
Students must take at least 9 credit hours from the Primary 课程 of the Medieval and Renaissance Studies Program, as listed in the current COSB.
· All courses taken must be three or four credit hours.
· Two courses must be upper-division courses (3xxx or 4xxx).
· All courses must be designated Medieval (M or MR).
· Courses must come from at least two different disciplines.
NOTE: Most upper-division courses in Art 历史, 英语, 哲学, and Spanish have prerequisites or corequisites. Further information is available in the COSB listings for each course's home department.
